Need To Know

Frequently asked questions, answered.

We know starting a new support service can bring lots of questions.

We make sure the day has a good mix of structure and fun! A typical full day often includes a mix of:
  • Social Time: Starting with a fun, group activity (like board games or music) to help everyone connect.
  • Skill Building: A practical session where we work on a life skill, like cooking our own lunch or practicing budgeting.
  • Community Outing: An afternoon trip, such as visiting a local park, doing some gentle exercise, or going on an outdoor adventure.
We always include breaks and chill-out time—it’s never too rushed!
We keep our groups at a small and comfortable size. This helps make sure you get enough one-on-one attention and have a real chance to make friends. We carefully choose the right number of support workers for each group, depending on the activity and the level of support everyone needs, to keep the environment safe, fun, and supportive.
It’s completely okay to feel that way! If you ever feel overstimulated or just need a break, please let your support worker know. We have quiet spaces available at our centre where you can relax until you feel ready to rejoin the activities. Your comfort and well-being are always our top priority.
Day programs are typically funded under the Core Support and Capcity Building sections of your NDIS plan, specifically using the budget for Increased Social and Community Participation and Assistance with Social and Community Participation. Just let our team know if you are self-managed or plan managed, and we will handle the paperwork and payments to make the process easy for you.
For a full day, we usually ask you to bring your own packed lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. You should also bring any personal items you need, such as medication or sensory aids. We will always tell you ahead of time if an activity requires you to bring anything specific, like appropriate shoes for an outdoor trip.
Yes! Our Day Program is a great place to help you prepare for life after school. We focus heavily on Capacity Building—meaning we help you learn practical skills like independent travel, computer skills, and how to work with a team, which are all important steps for a job, volunteering, or further education.
